St Peter's Church, Wenhaston

The moment you push open the heavy wooden door at St Peter's Church in Wenhaston, you're confronted by something genuinely unusual - a painted doom above the chancel arch that's managed to survive centuries of religious upheaval. This 15th-century fresco, rediscovered under whitewash during Victorian restoration work, shows the Last Judgment in vivid detail: souls tumbling into hell while the saved float peacefully upward.
