The church sits on Romney Marsh like a ship's mast - you spot it from miles away across the flat, windswept landscape. St. Peter & Paul is a proper medieval affair, one of those solid Kent churches that's weathered centuries of weather and the occasional French raid without flinching.

Inside, it's got the usual suspects: heavy stone columns, a decent roof, and the kind of quiet that makes you remember why people actually built these places. The marsh views from outside are genuinely worth a moment - flat and vast and a bit eerie in the right light. This isn't a treasure-packed cathedral, mind you. You're not going to spend hours here. Twenty minutes, maybe half an hour if you're into medieval stonework and want to sit down for a think.

It works best for walkers exploring Romney Marsh itself - the terrain around here is brilliant for that kind of wandering. History types who care about local church architecture will get something from it. Kids, unless they're already church-keen, will probably exhaust their interest before you've finished looking at the font.

You're only a few miles from several caravan parks - Marlie Holiday Park and New Romney Caravan Park are close enough that you could easily stop here during a wider marsh exploration. The real value is as part of a day's walking, not a destination in itself. Free to look round, which is how it should be.
