St. Pauls Church Ansdell & Fairhaven

The Victorian architecture alone makes St. Paul's worth a quick detour if you're staying at any of the caravan parks around Ansdell and Fairhaven. Built in the 1870s, it's a proper red-brick church that catches the eye with its solid, no-nonsense design - very much a product of Lancashire's industrial prosperity. Inside, the woodwork is genuinely lovely, and there's something calming about the light coming through the windows.

It's the kind of place that appeals most to history buffs and anyone interested in Victorian religious architecture. Families with restless kids might find twenty minutes enough, though if you've got teenagers into old buildings, they'll probably spend longer taking photos. The church sits in the quieter pocket of Blackpool's sprawl, so it feels removed from the seafront chaos despite being just a mile or so from the tower.

Admission appears to be free, which is fair for what's essentially a local parish church rather than a major tourist draw.
