Richmond Point Pond

Tucked away from Blackpool's main tourist drag, this small pond offers a surprisingly peaceful escape for families staying at nearby holiday parks. The water itself isn't particularly large, but it's become a proper little haven for local wildlife - you'll spot various ducks, moorhens, and the occasional heron if you're lucky.

Families with young children seem to get the most from a visit here. The kids love feeding the ducks (bring your own bread), while parents can actually have a conversation without competing with arcade noise. There's a decent path around the perimeter that takes about fifteen minutes to walk, making it manageable even with a pushchair.

Don't expect anything fancy - this is essentially a local park pond rather than a formal attraction. But that's rather the point. After a day of Blackpool's relentless seaside energy, Richmond Point Pond feels wonderfully ordinary and calm.

It works well as a morning or early evening stop if you're staying at one of the holiday parks like Haven Marton Mere or Ribby Hall Village. Give it an hour at most - any longer and the novelty wears thin. Free to visit, as you'd hope, though parking can be a bit hit and miss depending on when you arrive.
