St Laurence Church sits quietly in Alcester, the sort of place you'd walk past without thinking twice unless someone pointed out what you were actually looking at. It's a proper medieval church - the real deal, not a Victorian rebuild - with stonework that tells you this place has been here watching over the town for centuries. The interior is unexpectedly lovely. There's decent stained glass, some genuinely old monuments, and that particular smell all ancient churches have - cold stone and time, basically.

It's mainly going to appeal to church history types and architecture enthusiasts rather than kids, who'll get restless after ten minutes unless they're genuinely into medieval masonry. The churchyard itself is pleasant enough for a wander though, particularly if the weather's on side.

If you're based at one of the caravan parks nearby - Orchard Lodge is barely half a mile away - it's an easy leg-stretch between days out exploring the Warwickshire countryside. The Avon valley around here is pleasant enough for pottering, and Alcester itself has got enough character to warrant a morning's poking about. St Laurence Church won't be the highlight of anyone's holiday, but it's exactly the sort of minor attraction that breaks up a day and gives you a sense of place.
