St Annes Parish Church

The church sits on Church Road in St Annes, a proper Victorian seaside town just south of Blackpool. Built in the 1870s, it's a solid brick structure with a decent interior - nothing that'll knock your socks off, but worth a look if you're staying nearby. The architecture is what you'd expect from that era: high ceilings, stained glass that catches the light nicely, and the sort of peace and quiet you won't find on the seafront.

This is one for history types rather than kids, unless yours are at that age where they'll sit still for ten minutes. Locals pop in regularly, and there's a real sense of community about the place. You can usually just walk in during daylight hours - it's free, naturally. Half an hour's plenty of time to have a proper look around.

If you're based at Manor House Glamping or Pipers Height just down the road, St Annes Church is a gentle stroll away and makes sense as part of a morning walk before heading to the seafront. The town itself has a pier and some decent cafes, so you can combine a church visit with lunch without it feeling forced. Worth the detour if you're interested in Victorian architecture, but don't rearrange your day around it. It's the sort of place that rounds out a trip rather than being the reason you came.
