St Andrew's Church

St Andrew's is medieval through and through - proper old stone, decent proportions, and the sort of place that tells you something real about how people actually lived centuries back rather than just gawping at ruins.

Inside, there's a decent amount to notice if you're that way inclined. The architecture speaks for itself without needing a guide to spell it out, and it's the kind of building where you can just sit quietly for a bit if you fancy it. The churchyard is peaceful enough, though Presteigne itself is busy enough that you won't feel like you've stepped out of time entirely.

If you're based at one of the nearby caravan parks - Rockbridge is closest at just over a mile away, or Cranberry Moss a bit further - the church makes a natural stop when you're exploring Presteigne proper. It's free to visit, as far as church access goes, though hours aren't guaranteed so calling ahead is wise. Allow twenty minutes unless you're the type to spend an hour reading every memorial stone. The walk into town from most of the local parks is straightforward and pleasant.
