About Srón Mhór
Walkers will get the most from this one. It's not a casual stroll, and families with very young children might find it a bit much, but anyone used to Scottish hillwalking will find it straightforward enough. The views from the top make the effort worthwhile, and you're genuinely away from the crowds here - nothing like Ben Lomond or other overrun peaks.
If you're staying at Loch Eck Caravan Park or Stratheck Holiday Park, both within three miles, Srón Mhór makes an excellent morning or afternoon outing. The closer parks put you perfectly positioned to tackle it without driving too far. Start early to catch the light at the summit and avoid the afternoon mist that can roll in quickly along the coast.
There's no visitor centre or facilities at the peak itself, so bring water and proper boots. The terrain changes fast depending on weather, and in wet conditions the boggy sections become genuinely tricky. Worth doing though - it's the sort of walk you remember, not forget.
