Sarn Hill

Standing at just 180 metres, Sarn Hill might not sound impressive on paper, but this modest peak north of Tewkesbury delivers surprisingly good views across the Severn Vale for minimal effort. The gentle climb through mixed woodland takes about 20 minutes from the nearest parking spot, making it a proper walk rather than a mountain expedition.

From the summit, you'll see the Malvern Hills rolling away to the west and the Cotswolds stretching south - not bad for such a low hill. The view extends right across to the Welsh borders on clear days, though those are admittedly rare in this part of Worcestershire.

Families with older children will find it manageable, though toddlers might struggle with the uneven woodland paths. Dog walkers love it here - plenty of space to let them off the lead once you're away from the main track. Early morning visits work best; the car park fills up quickly at weekends.

It's a decent addition to a stay at one of the nearby holiday parks like Tewkesbury Abbey Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite or Croft Farm Water Park. Allow two hours for the round trip including a proper stop at the top. Worth combining with a visit to Tewkesbury itself - the abbey's worth seeing if you're in the area anyway.
