It's one of those parish churches where you walk in and immediately understand why it mattered to this town. The interior has that particular quiet that only old churches manage, with enough light filtering through to catch the stonework properly. Bungay itself is a charming market town on the Waveney, and this church sits right at its heart, so it's genuinely impossible to miss if you're wandering the high street.

Historically minded visitors will find plenty to occupy themselves - the church has some decent medieval features and the kind of layered history you'd expect from a building this old. It's not dramatically decorated or vast like some Norfolk churches, but that's partly the appeal. You won't spend hours here, but a good twenty minutes to half an hour is worth allowing if you're in the area. Free to look around, naturally.

It pairs well with a walk around the town itself or a push out towards the riverside. Worth the detour? Only if you're already in Bungay. As a destination in itself, probably not.
