Walkers doing the Saffron Walden loop will find these worth a detour, and they're genuinely free to visit - just show some respect if services are on. Allow 30-45 minutes if you're serious about looking, less if you're just ticking off a few photos. The nearby glamping sites at Hidden Gem and Hill Farm campsite make decent bases for exploring this corner of Essex, though you'll want transport to move between the three churches rather than hoofing it.
