Walking into Lambsells Wood near Saffron Walden, you're immediately surrounded by proper woodland - the kind with real trees, not the manicured sort. It's a genuine forest patch, quiet and genuinely atmospheric, where you can actually lose track of the fact you're in Cambridgeshire. The paths wind through mixed woodland with enough variety to keep things interesting for an hour or two.
