Saint Andrew's Church

The church sits solid on Horncastle's high street, all honey-coloured stone and proper medieval bones. Saint Andrew's isn't trying to be anything it isn't - it's just a working parish church that's been doing its job since the 13th century, and there's something reassuring about that.

Step inside and you're immediately struck by the light flooding through the windows. It's the sort of place that works brilliantly as part of a morning wander round Horncastle itself rather than a standalone trip. The town's got a proper market, some decent cafes, and if you're staying at Lincolnshire Glamping just down the road, you can easily pop in on foot. No drama, no entrance fee that I can find, though it's worth checking ahead if you're visiting outside standard church hours.

History types will appreciate the medieval fabric. Others might spend twenty minutes wandering round before heading for coffee. That's not criticism - it's honest church-visiting. The real appeal is how it anchors you to the place and its story.
