S. V. Paul

The ruins of S. V. Paul sit quietly near Burry Port, a genuine slice of industrial Wales that most visitors drive straight past. This was a collier - a coal ship that ran aground in 1886 and never left. What you see now are the skeletal remains of the wreck, still embedded in the mudflats, a proper monument to the area's mining heritage.

It's not a manicured heritage site with gift shops or interpretation boards. That's rather the point. You're looking at actual history, unvarnished and slowly reclaimed by the Carmarthenshire coast.
