Round Pond

Round Pond sits just outside Lincoln, a small but genuinely pleasant spot for a walk if you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks. It's a proper little lake - nothing dramatic, but the kind of place where you can actually see what's going on rather than squinting across some vast reservoir. You get ducks, the occasional swan, and enough space to loop round without feeling hemmed in.

The walk itself takes maybe 30 minutes if you're not rushing. It's flat, which matters when you've got kids or elderly relatives in tow. Families will get something out of it - there's usually enough birdlife to keep children occupied for a bit, and it's close enough to Lincoln that you can easily combine it with a trip into town to see the cathedral.

If you're based at Hartsholme Country Park or Camper UK Leisure Park, both just 2 to 3 miles away, it's an obvious choice for a morning outing. The Four Seasons and Lakeside parks are slightly further out but still manageable. Worth the detour? Honestly, if you're already camped nearby, absolutely. It breaks up a caravan holiday without any faffing about. Don't expect grand views or anything that'll take your breath away - this is understated Lincolnshire at its best. A decent spot for a quiet hour, nothing more, nothing less.
