Porth y Môr

Porth y Môr is a straightforward coastal spot near Amlwch on Anglesey's northern shore, where you get a proper bit of Welsh beach and rocky outcrops without the crowds you'd find at bigger resorts. It's the kind of place that doesn't try too hard - just cliffs, sea views, and access to a decent stretch of sand when the tide's right.

Walkers will find it worth a quick detour, especially if you're exploring Anglesey's quieter side. The rocks are decent for poking about, and it's the sort of location where you can actually hear yourself think. Families with young kids might find an hour or two here sufficient before they're ready for fish and chips back in Amlwch, though it's fine for a longer ramble if you've got the energy.

The beach access is straightforward enough, and it costs nothing to visit - it's just a case of turning up. There's no formal visitor infrastructure to speak of, so bring what you need. Time your visit for low tide if you want to explore the rockpools properly.

If you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks - Tyddyn Isaf is virtually on your doorstep, or Tyn Rhos at Lligwy Bay a short drive away - this makes a decent morning walk before you settle into the rest of your Anglesey itinerary. On its own it's not a reason to plan a trip, but combined with everything else the north coast offers, it's a useful spot to know about.
