Pond of Drummond

You're close enough to Crieff to grab lunch or coffee, and there's proper hiking country in every direction if you want to step things up. The nearby holiday parks - Braidhaugh Lodge is closest at just 1.5 miles - make it convenient for caravan and lodge guests wanting a quiet morning walk without travelling far.

Go in autumn when the trees turn and the pond reflects that gold and copper back at you. Summer can feel a bit underwhelming if it's busy with midges.
