Crieff Visitor Centre

The Crieff Visitor Centre sits right in the heart of town, and it's worth popping in if you're passing through Perthshire. Inside you'll find displays on local history, crafts and the area's whisky heritage - nothing earth-shattering, but it gives you a proper sense of what Crieff's about and why people have settled here for centuries.

It's best suited to those with a genuine interest in Scottish regional history rather than families looking for a day's entertainment. Kids might manage twenty minutes before getting restless. The centre opens daily from 9am to 5pm, and admission appears to be free, which makes it an easy stop without guilt if it doesn't grab you.

Allow about an hour if you want to read everything properly. The location is brilliant for exploring Crieff itself - the town has decent shops and cafés, and you're well-placed for walks into the surrounding Perthshire countryside. If you're staying at Braidhaugh Holiday Lodge just down the road, or one of the parks near Comrie, this is a convenient rainy-day option. On a clear day though, honestly, you'd be better off getting outdoors into the glens rather than spending time in a visitor centre. It's solid rather than essential.
