Parrenthorn

Base yourself at Burrs Country Park Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite, just over 5 miles away near Bury town centre. It's a solid spot for a park holiday, and Parrenthorn works perfectly as a morning or early-afternoon detour. Access is free, naturally - it's moorland. Go midweek if you can; weekends bring the local rambling crowd. Bring a compass in mist; the plateau can disorientate faster than you'd expect.
