Oxwich Point

Waves crash against limestone cliffs below as you stand on this dramatic headland overlooking Oxwich Bay. The walk up from the beach takes about 20 minutes through scrubland and coastal path, but the panoramic views across the Gower Peninsula make every step worthwhile.

From the point, you can spot Three Cliffs Bay to the east on clear days - that famous trio of limestone arches jutting into the sea. Looking west, the sweep of Oxwich Bay stretches towards Port Eynon, while inland the rolling hills of Gower unfold like a green patchwork. It's particularly stunning at sunset when the light catches the water.

Walkers and photographers will love this spot, though families with young children might find the clifftop path a bit exposed. The terrain is fairly rough underfoot, so proper walking boots are sensible. There's no formal car park at the point itself - most people park down at Oxwich village and walk up.

Staying at one of the nearby holiday parks like Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park or Nicholaston Farm makes this an easy evening stroll. The point works brilliantly as part of a longer coastal walk, linking up with the Wales Coast Path that runs right past your campsite door. Allow an hour return from the village, longer if you're stopping to take photos of those views across the Bristol Channel.
