Standing 550 feet above Conwy, this modest hill delivers proper views across the Conwy Valley and out to the coast. The climb from town takes about 45 minutes on a well-trodden path that starts near the castle walls and winds steadily upwards through gorse and bracken.

Walkers with a bit of stamina will find the summit rewarding - Conwy Castle looks magnificent from up here, while Snowdonia's peaks form a dramatic backdrop to the south. On clear days you can spot Anglesey across the water. The path isn't particularly challenging, making it manageable for older children, though the final stretch gets a bit rocky.

Early morning visits work best before the heat builds up, and you'll often have the summit to yourself. The descent back into Conwy is gentle on the knees, and you can easily combine this with a wander around the castle or a pint by the harbour.

Families staying at nearby parks like Lyons Pendyffryn Hall or Berthlwyd Hall will find this a good half-day adventure. It's free, obviously, and takes about two hours return from Conwy town centre. Nothing earth-shattering, but a decent leg-stretch that puts the medieval town into proper perspective.
