Mynydd Cefnamlwch

The walk up Mynydd Cefnamlwch isn't exactly a slog, but it's not a gentle stroll either. This peak sits just outside Pwllheli in Gwynedd, and from the summit you get proper views across the Llŷn Peninsula - on a clear day you can see all the way to Snowdonia. The hill itself is moorland and rough grassland, nothing fancy, but that's rather the point. You're not paying for anything or booking ahead; you just park sensibly and go up. This is the sort of walk that rewards hill walkers and families who don't need Disneyland attractions to have a good afternoon. Kids aged 8+ will manage it fine if they're used to moorland. Younger ones might find it dull - there's no waterfall at the end, no visitor centre, just views and the satisfaction of having walked somewhere proper. If you're based at one of the local glamping spots like NightSky Glamping or Tyn Ddol, it's a natural half-day activity that doesn't require faffing about with car journeys. The Llŷn Peninsula has some decent walking, but this one is straightforward and close to town, which counts for something.
