Monkmoor River Ground Countryside Site

The Monkmoor River Ground sits on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, a working countryside site that feels properly removed from town despite being within spitting distance. It's a nature reserve, essentially - the sort of place where you come to actually look at something rather than tick it off a list.

What you get here is a real stretch of the River Severn with proper woodland management. The walking is straightforward, nothing technical, and the bird life is genuinely decent if you know what you're looking for. Herons, cormorants, the usual riverside cast.
