Millennium Green is exactly what it says - a playing field with the sort of open-air simplicity that makes you wonder why every village doesn't have one. Nothing fancy, no admission charges, just grass and space enough to actually move about without bumping into someone.

It's the kind of spot you'd visit if you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks - Perran View or Haven Perran Sands are close enough for an afternoon outing. Families with young children will get the most out of it; older kids who expect climbing frames and a cafe will find it a bit thin. The playing field doubles as a genuinely useful community resource rather than a tourist attraction, which is refreshingly honest.

Go on a dry day, obviously. Soggy Cornish grass in November won't do anyone favours. Allow thirty minutes to an hour if you've got small ones in tow, less if you're just using it as a break between beach visits or walks. It connects reasonably well with the wider network of holiday parks in the area - Mount Hawke itself is tiny, so you're not drowning in amenities, but it's the sort of place that works as a base for exploring the better bits of central Cornwall without the chaos of busier resorts.
