Penhallow Plantation

Penhallow Plantation is a proper woodland walk just outside Truro, the sort of place where you can actually hear yourself think for five minutes. It's a working forest rather than a manicured park, so expect real trees, real mud, and the occasional surprise slope that catches you unawares.

What you get here is straightforward - woodland paths, a decent bit of shade, and the chance to stretch your legs without fighting crowds. It's ideal if you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks like Haven Perran Sands or Anchor Barrow and you fancy something low-key. The kids won't find it thrilling for hours on end, but if they're after tree climbing and a bit of exploring, it'll do the job.

No idea on opening hours or admission fees - you'll want to ring ahead or check locally in Truro before you head out. Allow an hour for a proper wander, maybe ninety minutes if you're taking it slow. Go when it hasn't rained for a few days unless you enjoy walking through soup.
