This is firmly a pursuit for active cavers rather than casual tourists. You'll need basic caving experience, kit, and ideally a guide who knows the system - the British Caving Association or local caving clubs in the area can point you toward proper access. It's not a guided commercial cave with handrails and electric lighting. Allow a good few hours if you're making a proper trip of it, and go in cooler months when water levels are manageable.

The surrounding moorland has other pots and shake holes worth investigating. Families wanting an easier cave experience should look elsewhere - the showcase caves around Settle and Ingleton are better bets.
