The walk up Meall Tòn Eich from Killin is straightforward enough - well-trodden path, decent views as you climb, and nothing that'll leave you gasping for breath if you're reasonably fit. The summit itself sits around 900 metres, giving you decent panoramas across Perthshire if the weather plays ball. On a clear day you're looking out toward Ben Lawers and across Loch Tay, which justifies the effort. In fog? Less rewarding, if honest.

This isn't a destination that'll keep non-walkers entertained - it's a hill walk pure and simple. Families with older kids who've got their hill legs will manage fine, but expect complaints from the under-tens if the weather turns. Allow two to three hours for the round trip depending on fitness. The path starts from near Killin, which is less than twenty minutes' walk from the village itself, making it accessible even if you're staying at Loch Tay Highland Lodges & Glamping Park down the road. That site works well as a base if you're planning a few days of walking in the area. Go early or midweek to avoid the weekend crowds; summer brings midges, so autumn's the sweeter option.
