Marloes (St. Peter) Church

The church sits on a slope above Marloes village, all solid stone and centuries of Welsh worshippers. St. Peter's is the sort of place you stumble into by accident while exploring the Pembrokeshire coast, and you're immediately grateful you did. The interior is surprisingly intimate - whitewashed walls, dark wooden beams, and enough history packed into the pews to keep a local historian busy for an afternoon. The churchyard offers proper views across the countryside, and on a clear day it feels like you're standing at the edge of something significant.

This is really one for the slower kind of traveller. Walk it as part of a longer ramble rather than a dedicated stop, unless you're into church architecture or the quieter side of Welsh heritage. It won't take long - twenty minutes inside and you're done - but it's the sort of place that lingers in memory more than the busy honeypot sites.

Getting there from Haverfordwest takes a fair old drive down winding roads, which is precisely why it doesn't attract coachloads. Free to visit, and you'll likely have it to yourself, especially midweek. If you're camping at Beachside Glamping Dale or Point Farm Campsite nearby, it's an easy morning detour before heading to the coastal paths. The coastal walking around here is genuinely excellent, so pair it with a proper hike rather than treating it as a standalone destination.
