Llyn Coron

This small lake sits quietly in the Anglesey countryside, just a short drive from Ty Croes. Llyn Coron won't win any prizes for drama - it's more of a gentle pond really - but there's something rather soothing about its modest presence among the farmland.

Families with young children will find it a pleasant spot for a brief stop. The water's edge is accessible enough for little ones to spot ducks and maybe throw a few stones, though don't expect sandy beaches or swimming opportunities. It's the sort of place that works well as part of a longer walk or cycle ride around the area rather than a destination in itself.

Birdwatchers might linger longer, particularly in winter when wildfowl use it as a roosting spot. The surrounding fields often hold lapwings and curlews if you're lucky.

Allow about 20 minutes unless you're settling in for a proper picnic. There's free access as far as I could tell, though parking is limited to roadside spots. It's well positioned for those staying at nearby sites like Y Fronydd Caravan & Camping Park or Penbryn Caravan Site - close enough for an evening stroll but not so spectacular that you'd plan your whole holiday around it. Perfectly adequate for a quiet moment between Anglesey's bigger attractions.
