Llwybr Coedwig Woodland Path

The woodland path that cuts through the trees just outside Beaumaris is one of those walks you stumble onto by accident and end up doing twice. It's a proper ramble through native Welsh woodland - nothing fancy, no visitor centre or café, just you and the trees and the occasional sound of the Menai Strait in the distance.

What you get is a straightforward loop through mixed woodland with decent sections of open canopy that let light filter through. The path itself is well-maintained and manageable underfoot, though it can get boggy after rain. Most people allow 45 minutes to an hour, which feels about right without rushing. It's the sort of walk where families with kids aged 5 and up will actually get something out of it rather than complaining halfway round.

Historically this area has been worked woodland for centuries, so there's layers to it if you're interested in that sort of thing, though you'd need local knowledge to read it properly. The main appeal is straightforward though - it's a proper escape from the coast road and Beaumaris town itself.

If you're staying at any of the caravan parks nearby - Kingsbridge is closest at under a mile, or Wonderfully Wild just under a mile away - this makes a cracking morning outing before heading into Beaumaris for lunch. It's free to walk, as far as anyone can tell, and there's parking at the entrance. Worth the detour if you've got a couple of hours to kill, though don't expect anything remarkable.
