Law Hill

The walk up Law Hill from Dollar is steep, direct, and over far too quickly once you know what you're doing. It's basically a proper hill walk without the mountains - you get a genuine summit feeling and proper views without needing fell boots or a packed lunch that could feed a family of four.

From the top you're looking down Dollar Glen and across Fife towards the Forth - on a clear day it's genuinely impressive. The climb takes about 45 minutes from the car park near Dollar town centre, and it's the sort of walk that appeals to hikers who don't want to spend all day mucking about, plus families with older kids who fancy something more interesting than a flat woodland stroll.

You'll see folk up there at weekends, but it never feels rammed. Go early in the day for the best light and fewer people. The paths are decent enough but can get muddy after rain, and there's nothing tricky about it - no scrambling or exposed bits, just gradient.
