Lad Law (Boulsworth Hill)

The walk up Lad Law takes about forty minutes from the car park, climbing steadily through moorland that gets progressively wilder as you gain height. Once you're on top of Boulsworth Hill - that's the proper name for the fell - you get views across the Pendle Valley that honestly justify the effort. On a clear day you can see right across to Pendle Hill itself, and the moorland stretches out in all directions with a raw, windswept beauty that feels a world away from the nearby glamping sites.

It's not a difficult walk, but it is exposed, so weather matters. I'd avoid it in heavy rain or when visibility is poor - there's not much to see then, and the wind can be properly fierce up there. Spring and autumn tend to be best. Allow a couple of hours for the round trip if you're taking it steady and want to sit at the top for a bit.

Walkers will love this one. It's the kind of fell that gives you proper exercise without requiring mountaineering skills, and the summit feels properly earned. Families with older kids can manage it fine, though younger ones might find the exposed sections unsettling. There's no cafe or facilities at the top, so bring water and snacks.
