Shay Gate Farm Campsite

Large family friendly site with good facilities. Pig trailer shower were different, but good, free and hot! Fire pits allowed but need to hire and purchase logs from them which was a bit on the pricey side at £15 + £10 for extra logs. Also not consistent policy on this as some guests were using their own. Given 4*as downside is it quite a sloped site and no ehu available.

Great little campsite I never knew about living only a mile away, clean and tidy, quite level pitches and the staff are non stop cleaning and working. Toilets and showers are clean, showers too hot for me, I like cool showers so had to nip home for a shower. Fire pits available and BBQs are allowed too! Will be back many more times.

The folk that look after this spot are ace and will do their very best to help you out, arrived here as a cyclist doing the GB Divide and needed a rare tool which they went and got. Also very understanding of a late arrival without booking. The pitches are fantastic, lush level grass, and the views are easily some of the best I’ve seen from any campsite in Britain. Stayed here not too long ago, the bloke that runs the campsite was spot on. Came upto us and had a right good chat really friendly bloke. The views over the valley are mint and it’s quite a quiet campsite in general. We’ve booked to come along again this weekend.

This was my second time using this site and it didn't disappoint! As a large group booking we were able to have exclusive use of one of the fields which worked perfectly for our needs. We were also able to hire firepits and purchase wood which meant one less thing we needed to bring with us! Facilities are great and there is lots of access nearby to walks, bike ride options etc.
