About Knowe Fell
You get sweeping views of the surrounding limestone country, farmland rolling away below, and on a good day you can trace the lines of dry stone walls cutting across distant hillsides. The fell itself is accessible, the paths are generally decent underfoot, and there's little risk of getting properly lost. It suits families with older kids and casual hikers far more than it suits serious peak-baggers.
Allow two to three hours for the round trip depending on your pace and how long you dawdle at the top. There's no charge to walk it, obviously - it's open moorland. Early morning or late afternoon light transforms the view, so plan accordingly if photography matters to you.
If you're based at one of the excellent glamping spots nearby - Malham Glamping Pods or Ribblesdale Pods are both just four miles away - Knowe Fell makes a natural half-day outing. It's the sort of walk you'd pair with a proper breakfast before heading out and a pub tea afterwards in Skipton. Not essential, but genuinely worthwhile if you're already in the area.
