Kingston Fields Playground

Just east of Woodbridge, Kingston Fields Playground is a proper local spot - the sort of place where families come because it's there and it actually works. It's a standard community playground with the usual kit: slides, swings, climbing frames, and a bit of open space for kids to burn off energy. Nothing fancy, nothing Instagram-worthy, but that's rather the point.

The playground sits comfortably for young children and early primary school age - under-eights will get a solid hour out of it. Older kids tend to drift away bored after thirty minutes, if I'm honest. The space is flat and reasonably well-maintained, with a few trees dotted about providing some shade on warmer days. It's free to use, which helps when you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks like Woodbridge Glamping or Moon & Sixpence just down the road.

If you're basing yourself in the area for a caravan or glamping holiday, Kingston Fields works as a mid-afternoon stop rather than a main event. It breaks up the drive, lets the kids get outside, and you're not paying for anything. The real draw of staying near Woodbridge is the river walks and the town itself - this playground is just the practical bit that keeps small children ticking over between proper outings.

Best visited on a weekday morning when it's quieter. Rain does make it less appealing, but that's true of any playground. Worth knowing about if you're staying locally, but don't go out of your way.
