King's Bridge - Suspension bridge

The iron span crossing the Towy River near Llandeilo is one of those Victorian engineering projects that doesn't shout about itself. King's Bridge is a proper suspension bridge - all wrought iron and Victorian swagger - and it's genuinely worth stopping for if you're driving through Carmarthenshire. The thing actually works. You can walk across it (cars too, though it's narrow), and the views down the river valley are decent enough to justify the detour.

It's not Clifton Suspension Bridge. This isn't a destination in itself - more a cracking spot to stretch your legs for twenty minutes while exploring the wider area around Llandeilo. The bridge itself is free to cross, and you get a proper feel for Victorian industrial design without any of the crowds. Families with kids will find it interesting for about half an hour; walkers using it as a waypoint on the Towy Valley path will appreciate its solidity and the walking access on both sides.

If you're staying at one of the glamping spots nearby - Gelli Glamping is barely two miles away - you've got an obvious morning walk sorted. The bridge works well as part of a larger loop taking in the river valley rather than a standalone visit. Go early in the day, avoid weekends if you can, and you'll have the place to yourself. It's the sort of place that rewards people who've actually bothered to find it rather than those just passing through.
