Hope Cove Gallery

A small gallery tucked away in Hope Cove itself, about twenty minutes south of Kingsbridge. The village is proper quiet - the kind of place where the most exciting thing happening might be a fishing boat coming in - so stumbling across a genuine art space here is a pleasant surprise. Inside you'll find rotating exhibitions of contemporary work, mostly from local and South West artists. Nothing massive or intimidating, just good stuff displayed in an intimate setting where you can actually have a conversation with whoever's running it.

This works best for people who actually like looking at art without the pretension of a big gallery. If you're camping at Karrageen Caravan & Camping Park or South Devon Camping Lower Terawhiti Farm - both excellent spots just up the road - you can easily pop down to the cove for a walk and check out whatever's on. The gallery sits right there by the beach, so there's no wasted journey. Pair it with a proper cream tea in the village and you've got a decent half-day sorted.
