A modest red-brick Methodist chapel sitting quietly on the edge of Newtown, Hollinsclough is the sort of place you'd walk past without a second glance unless someone pointed it out. But if you're staying at one of the nearby caravan parks - Peak Glamping Hideaway or Longnor Wood are practically on the doorstep - it's worth a quick visit if you're interested in Victorian nonconformist architecture and rural religious history.

The building itself dates to the 19th century and still functions as a working church and community hall. It's a straightforward affair: brick, sash windows, the kind of unadorned chapel that tells you everything about Methodist values of the era. No grandeur, no pretence. Just a space built by and for local people. The interior has that particular smell - old wood and decades of Sunday services - that either moves you or leaves you cold depending on your temperament.
