About Hall Hill
It's a proper walker's spot, not a destination you'd dress up for. There's no visitor centre, no café, no facilities - just the hill itself and the fact that you've climbed it. The path up is straightforward enough, though it gets a bit muddy after rain. Allow twenty minutes to the summit from the car park; another ten if you dawdle and look about.
Historians might get a kick out of the Romano-British settlement that once sat here, though there's precious little to see on the ground itself. Families with small kids could manage it, though there's not enough to hold their attention for long - maybe an hour at most if you include the view and a snack break.
Stay nearby at Wood Farm Camping or New Farm Holidays - both are rated five stars and within easy striking distance - and use Hall Hill as a morning walk before exploring Boston proper. On its own, it's not worth a drive across the Midlands. As part of a broader Fenland tour, it earns its place. The walk itself is the reward, and the light across the Fens at golden hour genuinely is something.
