The woodland's been managed for years, so there's a real sense of structure to it rather than tangled chaos.

You're looking at maybe an hour's walk if you meander around, though there's no prescribed route that I could find - just go in and explore. It's ideal for anyone needing green space without the stage-management of a country estate. Families with younger kids will manage fine on the main paths, though pushchair access depends on conditions. Dog walkers absolutely love it here.

Honestly, it won't blow your mind. It's functional woodland rather than dramatic landscape. But that's rather the point - this is where locals come to clear their heads, not to photograph Instagram moments. If you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks - Little Otchan's glamping spots or Parkdean Resorts up at Withernsea Sands - it's a solid half-day option to break up beach time. Sand le Mere's also close by if you're in that area.
