Grass Triangle

Three fields meeting at a point near Bridport - that's Grass Triangle, and it's exactly what the name suggests. No visitor centre, no facilities, just open grassland that gives you proper views over the surrounding countryside if you're willing to ramble about a bit.

It works best as a quick stop rather than a destination in itself. Ten minutes to wander round, get your bearings, maybe spot some birds or wildflowers depending on the season. Walkers heading between Bridport and the coastal paths will find it useful as a natural waypoint, and families after something low-key won't feel pressured to stay longer than feels right.

The real value is how it slots into a broader Dorset holiday. If you're based at Seadown Holiday Park or Newlands Holiday Park - both within a couple of miles - it breaks up the journey between your accommodation and the higher-profile spots like Golden Cap Holiday Park's clifftop drama. It's the kind of place that stops a day feeling too theme-parked.

Go in late spring or early summer when wildflowers actually line the paths. Winter can be muddy and a bit bleak. Free, obviously, and no time restrictions since it's completely open access. Don't expect signs or much infrastructure - this is very much a 'find it yourself' location. Decent boots recommended if the weather's been damp.
