Worth a detour if you're camping nearby at Hill Cottage Farm or one of the other sites around Fordingbridge, but honestly, don't plan a trip around it alone. The New Forest itself is fifteen minutes away and considerably more gripping if you've got a half-day to kill. Admission details weren't available when I checked, so ring ahead before you go - nothing worse than rolling up to find a closed sign. Kids will either love watching the pottery wheel or get restless after ten minutes, depending on their patience for craft. The real value here is as a stop-off during a broader exploration of the area rather than a destination in itself. If you're staying at Fernwood Glamping or Green Hill Farm and fancy something quieter than the usual tourist trail, this fits the bill nicely.
