Three Tree Hill

Three Tree Hill sits just outside Ringwood, a proper little vantage point that rewards a short walk with decent views across the heathland. It's not dramatic - no dramatic drops or sudden reveals - but on a clear day you can see right across to the New Forest, which is worth the trip if you're camped nearby.

The climb itself takes about twenty minutes from the car park, nothing strenuous. It's the kind of spot where you want to linger with a flask, watch the light change across the heath below. Walkers will find it a natural add-on to a wider ramble through the area, though it works equally well as a standalone leg-stretcher between campsites. Families with younger kids might find the walk a bit flat and featureless for their tastes - there's no playground, no facilities, just heather and trees.

Being free and accessible at all hours makes it useful timing-wise. Go early morning or late afternoon if you're after decent light and fewer people. The nearest town, Ringwood, is minutes away, so you could easily knock this off before hitting the pubs.

It's not the kind of place you'd plan a trip around, but it's exactly the sort of thing that fills a few hours during a New Forest break. Worth doing once.
