Fox Hill Holiday Park

The nearest town is York, which means you can spend a morning here and still have the afternoon for the city's museums and cafes.

The real draw is how it slots into a park holiday - you're staying at Fox Hill itself or one of the nearby parks like Flaxton Meadows (under 2 miles away) or York Meadows Caravan & Camping Park (4.4 miles), so the reserve is genuinely on your doorstep. You don't need half-days set aside or complicated navigation. Pop out before breakfast, grab an hour or two, come back for lunch.

Bring binoculars if you've got them. Wear proper shoes because the ground gets boggy. Go when the weather's decent - it's lovely on a clear morning, but less appealing when it's grey and damp.
