Four Kingdoms adventure park and family farm

Four Kingdoms is one of those places that keeps kids properly occupied for a good half-day - part adventure park, part working farm, all fairly chaotic in the best way. You're looking at climbing frames, zip lines, and generally the kind of equipment that makes parents hold their breath, mixed in with actual animals you can feed and handle. It's genuinely decent if you've got children aged roughly five to twelve who need tiring out.

The farm side of things sets it apart from your standard soft play centres. There's proper farm interaction here - not just looking at animals through a fence. That said, it's not a day-long destination. You'll smash through the main attractions in three or four hours, which is fine if you're basing yourself at one of the nearby campsites like Bishops Green Farm, just a fifteen-minute walk away, or Cherry Bird Country Park if you want a bit more amenity. It works brilliantly as a morning or early afternoon stop between other activities.

Newbury itself is close enough for supplies and lunch options, which matters when you're managing family timings. The adventure park element does mean it's better suited to kids with some confidence on climbing equipment - younger toddlers might find some bits overwhelming, and teenagers will probably find it a bit tame. Weather-dependent too, obviously. After rain, certain areas get slippery.

Worth a visit if you're doing a week in West Berkshire and need variety from the caravan routine. Not worth a special trip on its own, but as part of a broader park holiday it's a solid half-day commitment.
