Drim Wood

Drim Wood is a proper woodland walk just outside Narberth - the kind of place you stumble upon when you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks and fancy stretching your legs without driving anywhere. It's a mixed forest with decent paths that loop through the trees, nothing fancy but honest walking country. The canopy's thick enough to keep you cool on warm days, and there's a genuine sense of being away from it all even though Narberth's practically on your doorstep.

This works best for families with older kids and regular walkers. If you've got toddlers expecting a visitor centre and carved woodland creatures, you'll be disappointed - it's just woodland. Allow an hour or so for a decent wander, maybe longer if you're the type who stops to identify birds. There are no facilities that I'm aware of, so bring water and sort your shoes out beforehand.

What makes Drim Wood actually worth your time is its position. You're minutes from Narberth, which has decent pubs and shops, and it slots perfectly into a Pembrokeshire park holiday if you're staying at Noble Court, Bluestone, or any of the other parks within a few miles. On rainy Welsh days it's essential - the forest keeps the worst of the weather off. Summer weekends can get busy with local dog walkers, so go early if you want it quieter. Free access as far as I can tell, and honestly that's about right for what's on offer.
