Dollar Episcipal Church

The church sits on a gentle rise in Dollar, a small Fife town that doesn't shout about itself. It's a proper Victorian building - red sandstone, solid, the sort of place that's anchored the community for generations. Inside, there's decent stained glass and the usual hushed reverence you get in Scottish churches, but nothing that'll keep you for hours.

This is really a pause-and-look sort of stop rather than a destination in itself. History types might appreciate the architecture, and if you're walking through Dollar anyway it's worth diverting for twenty minutes. The churchyard has some old stones if you're into graveyards, though they're nothing particularly dramatic.

Where it works better is as part of a broader Fife exploration - you'd tie it in with exploring Dollar itself, wandering up to Dollar Glen or Castle Campbell if you're feeling energetic. The town's got genuine character without being twee, which you can't say about everywhere in Scotland.

If you're based at Fossoway Cabins or Meadow View Glamping, both just a few miles away, you could comfortably include Dollar on a half-day outing. The cabins especially are excellent if you want proper accommodation rather than camping. Go mid-morning when it's quieter, bring a decent camera if you like the stonework detail, and don't expect to linger. It's the sort of church you're glad you've seen, but not one that changes your life.
