Families with older kids who don't mind a bit of elevation will enjoy it; younger ones might find it a bit austere unless they're keen on spotting things. The nearest town is Ilkley, which means you're close to cafes and proper pubs if the weather turns.

With several caravan parks within a few miles - Brown Bank and Olicana are closest - this fits neatly into a broader exploration of the Yorkshire uplands. Pair it with a walk up to Cow and Calf for views that actually justify the hype, or make it a half-day stop before heading into Wharfedale proper.
