Ancient woodland with proper character, it's got the feel of somewhere that's been quietly getting on with things for centuries, which it has. The walk winds through mixed broadleaf trees and offers that proper restorative quality you get from older forests - less manicured than many country estates, more authentic.

It's ideal if you're staying at Yorkshire Wolds Glamping or Thorpe Hall Cottages and fancy stretching your legs without heading miles away. You're looking at a decent couple of hours if you take it slowly, though you can knock it back to one if time's tight.
