Church of St Michael, Cilycwm

The Church of St Michael sits in the small village of Cilycwm, about four miles south of Llandovery, and it's one of those places that rewards a bit of curiosity. The church itself is modest - a rural Welsh stone building with genuine medieval bones, though it's been worked on plenty since then. What makes it worth seeking out is the setting. The surrounding countryside here is proper rolling stuff, green and quiet, the kind of place where you'll genuinely hear birdsong.

The Llandovery area has proper walking territory nearby, so this fits well as a low-key cultural pause between longer rambles. Best visited on a clear day when the surrounding hills look their best.
